Days of August
A forbidden romance set in a dystopian Appalachia.
In an alternate history 20th-century America that's dominated by a totalitarian police state, a movement to resist the government brews in the city of Harpswell. Desperate to support the fight against tyranny, sensitive revolutionary Godfrey Kilpatrick is the recluse author of an underground rebel newspaper.
Struggling to reckon with regrets from his upbringing as the aristocrat son of Harpswell's iron-fisted governor, Godfrey is confronted by more buried memories when he rediscovers the poetry journal of his lover, August. Deciding to read it, he's forced to relive his heart-wrenching past through August's chronicling of their forbidden love.
"a carefully curated blend akin to West Side Story and Call Me By Your Name, but in a dystopian setting..."
