Mackenzie is an aspiring director and keen leader from Destin, Florida, whose previously untapped talents are propelling our production to impressive heights. She found her love for filmmaking through her interest in authentic emotional expression. Her flexibility & vision have proven pivotal in our film’s creative process. She strives to capture narratives that audiences can connect to and see themselves within, and it’s this sentiment that drives her passion and intent for Days of August.
Joshua Campbell
Director of Photography
Joshua is a capable cinematographer and leader from Santa Rosa, California. His strategic approach and hands-on team management makes him a robust pioneer of the film’s visuals. Throughout his youth he developed a passion for the arts and, after much experimentation, found his truest form of self-expression in moving images. During high school, Joshua wasted no time, collaborating with friends, family, and local artists on a wide range of projects including short films, music videos, and documentaries.
Rachel Owens
First Assistant Director
Rachel is a veteran behind the camera from Lynchburg, Virginia, with an impressive repertoire of photography, production, & directing roles. As the first assistant director, she serves as the director’s right hand making crucial decisions for her crew and striving for the most efficient shoot. Rachel’s tenacity manifests itself in the form of a critical sense of timing, the confidence to be a leader, and a careful understanding of each individual on her team. She acts critically and thoughtfully to ensure the success of every project she works on.
Luca Huff
Producer
Luca is a seasoned filmmaker from Charlottesville, Virginia, whose works include several feature-length productions. His initiative & expertise has already yielded the assembly of a skilled team and put the project on a path to success. He values decisiveness in the pursuit of creative excellence. His hands-on approach ensures productivity & efficiency to allow the team’s creative leaders space to work and room to focus on their respective goals.
James Knowles
Co-Writer / Director of Photography
James is a visual storyteller from Durham, North Carolina, with a passion for both screenwriting and cinematography. His dynamic approach to the craft has been instrumental in both the conceptualization and execution of the project. His down-to-earth demeanor and powerful work ethic makes him an invaluable and welcome addition to the team. Truly a versatile artist, James’ complex understanding of the film’s themes and it’s greater objectives has had a resounding impact on the rest of the creative team.
Sophie Montgomery
Co-Writer / Producer
Sophie is a diligent editor and proficient writer from central New Jersey. Her experience in both pre-production & post-production positions provides the team with valuable foresight and keen creative instinct. She has a natural talent for characterization and has been a fundamental asset in making the characters of this story come to life. Her genuine and confident disposition can be seen on and off the pages and has added a fresh dynamic to our team's creative process.
